Our Rendezvous on the Hotel Des Artistes Rooftop

Our Rendezvous on the Hotel Des Artistes Rooftop

My man Andrew is a sucker for live music anywhere, anytime so when we stumbled upon a place with live music AND a view the deal was done. Entering the unashamedly glamorous Hotel des Artistes through a fountain-bordered staircase, you know you’re in for a treat, but you have NO idea the gravity of the situation until you step off that elevator and into… heaven. With a view that could quite literally break your heart, the rooftop terrace is one of the most stunning spots I’ve ever enjoyed an overpriced beverage. The in-your-face luxury of this bar allows you slip [...]

El Brujo Restaurant Bucerias – Our New Fave

El Brujo Restaurant Bucerias – Our New Fave

The restaurants along the beachfront at Avenida del Pacifico in Bucerias have a lot in common. They’ve all got great views, they’ve all got open air settings, they’re all pretty touristy. That said, I can think of at least 3 reasons why El Brujo restaurant, the second last on the strip before the avenue ends is one you’ll want to check out… and one that once you do… you’ll find yourself coming back. We were told to check out El Brujo by a lady that lives near us. She’s a local, and a real Mexican, which made the recommendation seem [...]

Montmartre District Paris: Review

Montmartre District Paris: Review

As a tourist (and Paris locals or more experience Paris travelers feel free to correct me) Montmartre seemed like the kind of place that was ever so slightly off the main tourist path. It was not a place I’d ever heard anyone talk about after visiting Paris, not a place I’d heard of in books, movies, or tales of adventure. Nonetheless, looking back, visiting the district of Montmartre might just have been the most memorable part of our visit to the French capital. Montmartre is a district in the North of Paris known for it’s theatres, entertainment, and general arty-ness. [...]

Dulce Galeria at Bucerias

I am an unashamed sweet tooth. Without going into too much detail, suffice it to say that if I’m in a new country and I see a sign that says “(that country’s) Finest Traditional Sweets”, I’m pretty much there like a bear. That’s the sign I saw, colorfully designed in aqua green and purple, strolling down Lazaro Cardenas blvd in centro Bucerias, marking the entrance to Dulce Galeria. Truth be told I wasn’t that excited at first after having left a couple of stores making similar claims in downtown Vallarta being rather disappointed at their lack of any uniqueness or [...]

Mezzogiorno Italian Restaurant Bucerias

Mezzogiorno Italian Restaurant Bucerias

Mezzogiorno is a restaurant that had tempted us since our first walk along the beach from the north end of Bucerias. Now having eaten there twice, it’s a restaurant that we’ve decided we both passionately love and strangely hate… but mostly love. Before we can get into why, some preface is needed. Mezzogiorno is the last restaurant in a strip of about 10 at the northern end of Avenida del Pacifico, stretching about 400 meters from the overly conspicuous orange Adriano’s on the north side of the Bucerias town square. Walking from the town center at dinner time on most [...]
