Our Trip To Banaue: More Than Terraces

I thought I’d make another post on Banaue because I think there’s lots to discuss about this small mountain town, certainly much more than just the rice terraces that the town is known for.

I’ve included here some of the other things you should do while you’re in Banaue as [...]

Nomads Capital Wellington – Our Windy City Experience!

We weren’t ready for a real “roughing it” experience so we were looking for a private room, reasonable price and a great downtown location. After researching a few tourist websites we settled on Nomads Capital Wellington and booked it!

Pizzeria Da Michele – Tantalizing Tastebud Heaven!

Just typing the name Pizzeria Da Michele makes me start to drool just a teeny bit and wistfully cast my mind back to that day in Naples when we first fell in love… and by “we” I mean the pizzeria and I of course! ;)

The Bus To Banaue – Be Careful!

I wanted to write a special post just on GETTING to Banaue on the bus, because as you’re about to learn, it’s not your average bus trip.
We did a LOT of research on this trip, both online and asking various locals around Manila about getting to Banaue and we never seemed to get a clear [...]

Cheap Flight To Rome – Finding a Bargain!

Andrew and I had planned a two week holiday in London, UK and thought while we were there, since flights were so cheap, we’d jump across to Italy for 4 nights to visit Rome and Naples. We were on a moderate budget so with that in mind we were definitely looking for a cheap flight to Rome!

Philippines Travel – Our Amazing Adventure

As you will have read, Andrew and I traveled to the Philippines in June 2008 and had the most amazing 4 week adventure. From mountain villages to island retreats – we experienced it ALL and will keep the memories we made that month in our hearts forever.

It was our first real adventure holiday as a couple so there were definitely testing moments but what we learned about ourselves, our relationship and travel in general has definitely led us to the travel lifestyle we now live!

While in the Philippines we visited several island and enjoyed VERY different experiences from “roughing it” in the mountains to pure luxury on a private island resort.

Our Review Of The Banaue Rice Terraces, Philippines

I wanted to put a post together to try and provide all the information you’d need to know if you’re planning to head up to the Banaue Rice Terraces in Northern Luzon, Philippines. Amongst other reasons, the effort it takes to get there, namely, the 9 hour bus ride from Manila, means you want to get your trip right, and know what you’re getting yourself into. This post isn’t about the whole of the Banaue adventure, but specifically the rice terraces. If you’re going there to see them, you need to know what it is you stand to see.

The Sanafe Lodge Banaue – Our Stay And Review

After seeing the pictures and videos online of the Rice Terraces, one of many claimed “8th Wonders Of The World”, we knew coming to the Philippines that we had to get to Banaue to check them out for ourselves.
I’ve written about Banaue elsewhere, but I wanted to take this post to make a special post [...]
